| The base of the bender is made
out of 3/4" plywood that is routed out
to accept the "U" channel of heat resistant material (calcium
silicate).
In the "U" channel a length of toaster wire filament has been slightly
stretched, laid and attacted between the 2 screws.
A lead from each of the screws goes to a Rheostat to control the heat/wattage in the wire. Experience will tell you how hot the wire should be for different thicknesses of Plexi. |
